Plan an Unforgettable Paintballing Weekend  19/03/2014

No matter whereabouts you live in the country it is pretty normal to find yourself getting a bit bored every now and then. Particularly if you live in an area where there is not much going on, you might have exhausted all forms of entertainment. If you’re looking for something entertaining, have you tried paintballing yet? We’ve picked just a handful of areas where paintballing is available and suggested how you can make a weekend of it. You can’t beat a bit of paint-throwing followed by a good meal and a wicked night out!

Sheffield

According to a recent survey Sheffield is one of the happiest cities in the country. We can understand why! A cheerful city filled with friendly people, who wouldn’t be happy?

Paintballing: the paintball centre is situated on Haigh Lane, Wakefield (S75 4DA). This activity is one of the most energetic, fun games that you can play. It will get everybody stuch into the weekend straight away and ensure your weekend is remembered forever.

Hotel: because it is such a big city your choice of hotels is quite vast. If you’re not planning to spend too long hanging around your room then there is a Holiday Inn available half way between the paintballing venue and the main night time hotspots. Alternatively, there are various higher-end places such as The Welcome Inn (on Wortley Road).

Nightlife: the appropriately-named Rockingham Street is where most night time revellers are to be found. It is just 30 minutes between Rockingham and paintballing, and a hotel half way between them means that you are just 15 minutes away from the action in either direction. There are plenty of pubs and bars so pre-book your meal and get ready for a fantastic night out!

Leicester

People who live in Leicester often complain that there is not that much to do. Once you have explored the Richard III bits and pieces and been shopping you have pretty much covered everything. Instead of exploring the same old stuff, plan a different type of weekend.

Paintballing: the perfect activity for anybody who is tired of the Highcross and fancies doing something a bit different. Particularly if it’s your birthday and bowling or the laser quest is a little bit old-school, this is the ideal update.

Hotel: there are several hotels in the city centre including fancy places such as the Regency Hotel or Belmont Hotel as well as the cheaper option, the Holiday Inn. All of them are within a very short distance of the night life.

Nightlife: from r’n’b clubs to more indie style clubs, Leicester will have whatever type of venue that you’re after. Most clubs are within a 5 minute walk of High Street so you won’t put too much strain on your heels walking from one club to another!

Bedford

A pretty place which offers sightseers a good day out. Bedford Castle for example was built during the Norman era by Henry I and is now an archaeological park with lots of places to eat. However, if you’re looking for something a bit more action-packed then...

Paintballing: if you’re bored then it is very likely that all of your friends are as well! Get your mates together (as many as 20 people!) and have a day out throwing paint around.

Hotel: the Millhouse Hotel is exactly halfway between the town centre and the paintballing venue so would be an ideal place to stay if you are planning to spend the night away from home.

Nightlife: one of the great things about Bedford is that its nightlife is all located very closely with each other. Most of the bars and clubs are around the Broadway Road and Goldington Road so it easy to get around and have a great time.

Manchester

Manchester is one of the most popular cities in the country with many people arguing that it should be named the Second City (sorry Birmingham!) A weekend there is a fantastic idea as it has so much to offer.

Paintballing: if you want to have fun throughout the day but shopping really isn’t your thing, then a few hours of action-packed fun should do the trick.

Hotel: there are hostels available charging as little as £13 / night. Alternative options include the Radisson Blu Edwardian Manc. Hotel at £275 / night. There are a large range of places where you can stay that are within a short distance of all the action.

Nightlife: the city’s nightlife is notorious for all the right reasons. There are so many places to hang out in the evening that you will be spoilt for choice. The Northern Quarter is a good place to start where you find popular destinations such as Cuba Cafe.

Romford

London has endless activities to offer but if you want to do something a bit more special for a birthday or important occasion then you might decide a day of paintballing will make a nice change.

Paintballing: the Sidcup venue is probably the best one for people around Romford.

Hotel: because it is only around half an hour from London then a night’s stay in the capital is always an option; incorporating your paintballing into a London weekend is a great idea.

Nightlife: because of its terrific location, the whole of Essex or London is available to you and your friends.
